LLF NEWS - NATIONAL TOURNAMENT 2017

Congratulations to Morden LLF and their valliant efforts as they won both the Boys and Girls (11-a-side) National Tournaments, doing the double!

 

West Sutton LLF also celebrated as their girls side showcased a tremendous display throughout the Girls 7-a-side National Tournament and won their final 1-0 against a strong Morden side.

 

The LLF National Tournament is the most looked forward to event by all leagues as the finale attracts many of its participants. Boys and Girls from across the regions get the chance to compete against each other and lift our historic trophy!

The Boys Junior National Tournament saw 12 representive teams enter this year, New Addington LLF who finished runners up reached their 5th final since the tournament began, their second back-to-back final and produced a strong performance throughout the tournament to reach the this years final.

 

Morden were worthy winners as a comfortable 6-1 win saw them lift the trophy. Morden who notched up the most tournament wins back in 2006 after overtaking the now defunct, Handsworth Little League and have extended their national honours.

The 2017 Girls National Tournament saw both the seniors and juniors tournament hosted at West Sutton LLF.

 

The senior section saw only 3 representive teams enter this year! Morden faced West Sutton Orange in the final as Morden won 3-0.

 

The Juniors section was more entising, the 7-a-side appearing to be the more popular format with 6 representative teams entering this tournament. The hosts were the eventual overall winners, West Sutton LLF lifting the trophy with a solitary goal as they beat Morden 1-0 in the final.

 

Although not many leagues entered in the Girls National Tournament its a subject in which the National Tournament Committee will most likely address with the NEC as LLF looks to continue to grow. If any leagues wish to suggest options then feel free to contact us.

U10s TOURNAMENT NEWS

The Small Sided U10s National Tournament will be held at Suttons Goals Soccer Center, Chem on Saturday 3rd July 2017.

 

Kevin Galvin has sent out applications and invites to all affilated LLF Leagues and has had a possitve response as the 10th anniversary approaches for this tournament. There are still a few places left and a couple of leagues are yet to respond.
